I am confused about scaling of the scores for VR. According to the chart on the back of the VR text, if I get 23/40 questions right, that converts to approx. 15 on the MCAT scaled score? Seems kind of low...

23/40 would translate to 7-8/15. See page 7 of your VR CC.
