It may be useful to note that when it refers to the question above it refers to 242 and 243 not 244.
Then it makes a lot more sense.

Then T=m(man)g=10*100=1000.

If you think about it, if there was no man there the tension in the rope would be zero. The acceleration is the acceleration due to gravity when that mass becomes infinite, so the force created tension is F=m*a of the man, where a=g.
