Question 8:
This question seems to be a source of confusion for a lot of people. The key point in keep in mind is that you are deciding which of the following arguments would NOT be used by people who are pro euthanasia. The answer is A and the reason is that people who are for assisted suicide tend to focus their arguments around the patient's physical pain rather than realizing that emotional pain is the real culprit (see line 45-47 of the passage). Understanding this point is key to the main idea of the entire passage - that euthanasia is often misunderstood by those that are most strongly for it!
The other answers are found directly in the text and are frequently used by people who are pro-assisted suicide.
Question 9:
The focus for this question is understanding the result of healthy people's perceptions on those that are suffering. Again, it relates back to your comprehension of the passage's main idea. Choice A is a possibility but not directly mentioned in the passage (would not be my first choice). Choice B should be crossed off because the perceptions are not valid in the debate since "people who are healthy have a strong tendency to extrapolate understanding...in ways that those who are in fact suffering would not allow" (line 24). Answer D is entirely irrelevant and out of context. Best choice is therefore C and has support from the last paragraph.
Hope that helps.
