What is the difference between habituation and extinction?

Hello!

Ethnographic study
Fortunately, this definition doesn't come up too often. Unfortunately, you should have a pretty good understanding of it!

Here's a link that I thought really detailed this type of study: https://www.spotless.co....of%20social%20sciences.

Habituation v Extinction
- Extinction: the performance of a learned behaviour/response ceases when the reinforces is no longer presented. Essentially, the association is lost.

- Habituation: the reaction to a natural response is no longer observed.

The difference is between whether this was a learned behaviour or a natural one.

Hope this helps!
