Hi,

Does nucleophilicity increase or decrease down a group? I have seen sources say it increases since larger molecules have less of a hold on their electrons (thus better base). However, wouldn't fluorine be a better base than chlorine, bromine etc? Is the halogens the only exception to this rule?

Thank you
