Im not getting how the answer is D. The author clearly does not agree with anything to do with theospohy or synthesia but he still appreciates the book. I know he said it might be hard to read, but answer D is still saying the same thing about theospohy/ using synthesia because it incvolves expressing music as art as well as emotions.

Hi Lydia,

I'm not sure I would agree with you that the author has such strong feelings against theosophy and synthesia as you are describing above. While they do not agree with all of the claims of theosophy, they do understand and recognize some positives in it (paragraph 6). They describe it as "wonderful pseudoscientific nonsense" - yes confusing and contradictory - but this shows that they are recognizing that it does have some value.

Of all the answers, D fits the author's opinions - appreciating the use of other senses, but not applying the beliefs of theosophy.
