Hi,

Just wondering why A is a weaker answer than B? Because in A wouldn't you only be looking at 1 type of intelligence?

With B, wouldn't the fact that there exists a different form of intelligence (problem solving) mean there is multiple intelligence?

Thank you!

Hi Nicole!

I agree that this is kind of a difficult question and isn't worded in the best way.

It may be helpful to rephrase the question: Which answer choice suggests the existence of a single level of intelligence that holds across different skills? Choice A suggests enhanced abilities in one domain may be assessed by different tests, while choice B points to the existence of g, a general intelligence factor, by suggesting that skill in one modality corresponds to skill in another.

With A, because we are only looking at a single level of intelligence for one category, I don't think we can say that it is strong evidence for or against the theory of multiple intelligences. This makes it sort of correct, but perhaps not the best answer.

With B, It is suggesting that there is a general intelligence that holds across different categories, and scoring highly in one corresponds to scoring highly in other, unrelated categories. This makes it a better choice than A.

Hopefully that helps!
Taylor
