Hello,

I've been keeping up with the study plan and I have finished the practice tests 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 from the workbook. On verbal reasoning tests 3,4,5 and 6, I scored 60, 68, 65, and 65 (respectively). This slight plateau is pretty discouraging, and I'm worried that I'm not improving. Will following the study guide and doing post-mortems improve my score, or should I look at doing more practice/work on new techniques? I'm not sure what is considered 'good' when practicing for CARS - maybe I'm doing better than expected, or maybe I'm struggling and way behind.

Thank you and I appreciate any and all advice.

Hi Sarah,

It can take a LOT of practice for the techniques to come together and click. So, I do recommend you keep following the post-mortem advice and keep working. You made a big jump from the first test, but a plateau is pretty common. It does require a bit of work to get the "feel" for a good CARS answer and really start to connect the dots within the passage. Any more specific advice I could give you, I would love to do so based on seeing your actual work and where you are making mistakes. There might be something I could pick up on and advise you... if you feel comfortable, you could maybe email me a pic of your last post-mortem?
Sincerely,
Meaghan
