Hi,

Does a ligand binding to a GPCR just activate proteins within the cell, or can it increase their expression as well?

Thank you

Hi there,
A ligand binding to a GPCR can increase expression of proteins within the cell, typically through gene transcription factors. If required, a passage or question will describe how that upregulation or downregulation occurs, so you won't have to worry about memorizing any complex specific cell signalling pathways beyond what have been discussed during the course.
