Hi,

I was confused about this question because I thought it was referring to the individual Amino acid sequences of each peptide itself, and not just the order/arrangement of the 3 peptides. How can you tell from this question that it's just talking about the peptide order, and not the Amino Acid order?

Thanks!

Hi Nicole!

The passage states that 3 different tripeptides were isolated and none share a common amino acid. In the last sentence it asks what the total number of possible structures is for the full length peptide! Because you know that you've started with three and none are the same, you can give arbitrary values for each (ex. ABC, DEF, GHI) and then look at the ways they can be organized.

Hopefully that helps!
Taylor
