Hi, so for trying to seperate enantiomers i know you have react it with an optically pure compound. In my notes it says it has to be all + or all -.
does that also mean that the compound would be all R or all S?

Hi,

Yes, all + or all - implies that the compound you add is enantiomerically pure, but recall that you cannot correlate R as + or S as -.

The salt you would get from this reaction would be a diastereomer, which you can separate as diastereomers have different properties.
