I have a general question on the yield of the lens equation and the lateral magnification equation. We didn't go over these equations in class and the prof never spoke to their importance. There is a few questions on the ICE that require our knowledge of them.

Thank you.

Hello! Faisal covered what is high yield for the MCAT and had some tricks on how to approach MCAT-style questions without explicitly using the lensmaker's equation. The MCAT often asks real/virtual, upright/inverted, magnified/diminished questions where the RIP VUN mnemonic can be used.

Hi Justine,

Just to add on to the above, I'm not sure if you missed it but we did cover the equations in class and the whole mirror/lens section is considered very high yield so that would include the lens maker and magnification equations.

Hope that helps!
