Hi there!

I found passage 3 from test 7 (EK 101) to be challenging because I noticed that many of the answer choices came verbatim from the text. After doing my post-mortem, I realized that although I brought most Qs to a 50/50, I often answered incorrectly because I did not remember these phrases from the text.

While practicing in EK 101, should I avoid going back to the text when they kindly give me the corresponding line numbers in the question stem, or will these also be given in the new MCAT when we are presented with a specific phrase or word to interpret?

Do AAMC passages have a lot of these types of questions, or do most focus on the main idea?

Thanks!

I do find that there tend to be more detail-oriented questions in the 101 book.... mostly because that book is designed to hone your reading comprehension skills and ability to tune into those finer details. If you're given the actual line number, then do go back to it and check. AAMC questions tend to be broader and give broader locations, for example "the 2nd paragraph".

Hope this helps!
