Hi Mike, my question is in relation to p.203 of the EK Chem book.

I was wondering if you would be able to explain what the text means when they say "Even 2x will be much smaller than 1. This means that 2x +1 must be very close to 1. Because 2x is so small, it can be left out." This was the reasoning that was provided when simplifying for the solubility of BaF2 when NaF was added into the solution. I am not sure where they get the "1" from here.

I cannot see this on page 203 of the EK Chem study guide.
