What is the difference between a prototype and a stereotype? Can you please please provide an example and definition for both?

Hi Dejan,

Prototype: The best example to represent a certain category. These can help remember key details about a particular concept/category.
- Example: A cat has four legs and tends to meow.
Stereotype: An oversimplified generalization, with the underlying assumption that all members in a particular group are the same.
- Example: Cats are not as cuddly as dogs. (just an example!)

Hope this helps,
Vishali
