Hi, this question asked "which variant..." but the answer was the wildtype. Throughout school, I always learned that the wild type is not a variant... it is the wild type. Any other genotype is considered the variant. Would someone please clarify if this is a mistake on Altius' part or is it too fine of a detail for the MCAT?

Thank you!

Question 44 does seem a little nefariously worded. The passage clearly states that the three mutants are variants; the wild type p27 is not referred to as a variant. It certainly isn't standard to refer to the wild-type as a variant. For studying purposes, my recommendation is to answer this question without the use of "variant"; the question is not worded very clearly.
