Hi,
For batteries in circuits in physics questions, what is the cathode and the anode? I can't remember if it is different from chemistry or not.

Hi Natasha,
Good question! Here's the official definition:
The electrode of a battery that releases electrons during discharge is called anode; the electrode that absorbs the electrons is the cathode.
The battery anode is always negative and the cathode positive. If you're looking for additional details, here's a source I think is pretty helpful:
