Hello,

While I was doing the AAMC section bank questions for biological science section, I had realized there were several questions requiring the knowledge of knowing specific enzymes and intermediates of certain metabolic pathways (ex. TCA, gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis)

As in class and also in the ExamKrackers Study Guide book, we did not go over these topics in such detail, I feel a bit confused from its appearance in our assigned homework questions.

In addition, for the homework for BioBiochem 2 (AAMC section bank) there were questions involving the lecture topic of BioBiochem 3 (DNA replication). Would this be a mistake?

For the MCAT I would not bother memorizing the specific details of each step, just understand the concept they are questioning. Most of the time if they ask questions about specific details it will be in the passage or you can infer from the passage/question. It is unlikely you will be able to memorize every single detail about specific biology concepts, so you should start to practice the skill of MCAT passages and how to infer information and answers based on the passage and questions. You could memorize the steps of each enzyme cycle to facilitate these questions but it is rare on your actual test you would need these memorized.

As for the logistics, it is good to have questions that integrate concepts from different weeks. It can be frustrating for you when you haven't covered the material yet, but it is a good way for you to understand how the actual MCAT will be with integration.
