Hi,

I’m wondering if the MCAT requires us to know what each of the 6 types of neuroglia look like?

Thanks!

Hi Nicole!

It is probably a good idea to have a sense for the different types of neuroglia. You should definitely know the major ones such as oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells.

Hi,

Would they potentially provide a description of what the cell looks like and then you would need to recognize which glial cell it is?

Thanks!

Nicole,

They would likely incorporate information throughout the passage and you would refer to which cell. It could also be a one-off question where it asks you to compare. I would be familiar with the cells, their structure, their function, and their characteristics.
