This might be a bit of a dumb question :,) But my mental math is very weak and I struggle to do quick calculations. On one of the questions, we had to divide 0.55g/204.2, the answer was about 0.0027. But I personally have no idea how to do this in my head. I tried rounding to 0.5 and 200, but I still wasn't sure.

Not a dumb question at all! Mental math is hard. 😥

First, let's approximate these values:

0.55 / 204.2 = 0.5 / 200

Then, let's do a SNEAKY TRICK:

0.5 / 200 = 0.5 / (2 x 100)

mwahahaha...

So, let's divide 0.5 by 2, and THEN divide it by 100.

0.5 / 2 = 0.25

Then, divide by 100 (aka move the decimal place over by 2)

0.25 / 100 = 0.0025

Heeeeey that's not so bad! 😀
