I'm not sure why A is a better answer than B. Just because one religion says they should not kill does not contradict the fact that many scriptures command to kill your enemies because its just one religion not multiple stating this. While the author also mentioned that many religions deal with this cognitive gymnastics aka ethical dilemmas, then if one religion ruftes this by not having this cognitive delemma then it would challenge that dogmatic religious instruction leads to ethical delemmmas if this one does not.

Hi Lydia,

While answer B seems like it could be correct, the quote about 1 religion that does not order people to kill each other (or does not have the "ethical dilemma") does not directly refute answer B. Answer B is a distractor and not 100% related. Answer A is correct because the quote directly questions or contradicts this statement.

Hello!

I'm confused about this as well! B is incorrect since the 1 statement made in the question can't contradict a broad claim. However, with that logic, how can you say A is correct since it's also based on the 1 statement contradicting a broad claim. How come in A, the 1 statement can work to contradict, but in B, 1 statement is not enough evidence?

Thank you!

Hi Nicole,

I would think of this in terms of which statement is most responsive to the question. The question has a quote about killing, and A is most responsive to that, whereas B is much more general.

Hope this helps!
