Hello,

Question 20 of the AAMC biology section asks "Which amino acid substitution for the conserved residue at position 64 in least likely to affect the enzymatic function of integrase (IN)?" In the explanation, it said that the conserved residue position 64 in integrase is aspartate. Nothing in the passage indicated this, so is this something we just have to know? Or do you think I missed something in the passage that shows that asparate is the amino acid at 64?

Hi there,

Yes, you are expected to know the approximate or average molecular mass of amino acid, good thing is - now you know!
