Hello,

Is the work and the electric potential energy (UE) equal?

My reasoning for asking is work = fxd and UE= qEd and Fe= Eq so technically UE= (Fe)(d)

Thank you,
Lina

Hi Lina,

Yes! Assuming that the particle begins and ends at rest, or is at a constant velocity - so there is no change in kinetic energy then work will equal the change in electrical potential energy.
