Hey guys! I am reviewing all the biochem pathways and I just realized that in TCA succinate turns into fumarate when FAD+ turns into FADH2 but in ETC succinate turns into fumarate when FADH2 turns into FAD+. But I don't understand why is this the case? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Srinija,
In both TCA cycle and ETC, succinate is oxidized to fumarate and in doing so you go from FAD+ to FADH2. The FADH2 is oxidized to FAD+ in the ETC, to give those electrons to complex II.
