- Question #31: How do we know what the distance from the rope to the end of the board on the side opposite to the weight is? We are not given a total length of the board or what that value is. Also when we are finding the mass of the board is part of that mass not also contributing to the torque on the side with the weight?

- Question #35: How would the two objects rise to the same height? If the same force is being exerted on them by the spring wouldn't the more massive object not accelerate as much and therefore it would reach a lower height than the less massive object? Even when I use 1/2mV^2 =mgh I still think it would reach a lower height. Why am I wrong?

- Question #42: Why does having the pivot closer to the point mean that the tension changes at that point?

Hello! For question #31, the question says “meter stick” so the total length of the rod is 1m. With the left side of the rod (relative to the pivot point) being 20 cm, the right side must be 80 cm.

In question #42, the pulley acts as a modified lever due to the pivot points being off-center. This causes a difference in tension.

We'll loop back to question #35 shortly.
